چکیده

The purpose of this study was to select a polymer for a simulated gastric media (simHGF) to obtain rheological properties similar to that of aspirated human gastric fluid (aspHGF). Rheological characterization showed that addition of 0.2% (w/v) MC 20.000 mPa·s to simHGF provided a simulated media with rheological properties similar to that of aspHGF. INTRODUCTION Many efforts have been made towards simulating the conditions in the human stomach. In current simulated gastric media physiological characteristics, such as presence of gastric lipase, mucin, and viscosity differences have not been considered. Parameters that possibly impact drug dissolution characteristics. The dissolution characteristics can be described by the Stoke Einstein (Eq 1) and Noyes Whitney equation (Eq 2) ∙ ∙ ∙ ∙ (1) Where D is the diffusion coefficient, KB is Boltzman constant, T is absolute temperature, n is viscosity, and r is radius of sphere.

Annual Transactions of the Nordic Rheology

We describe a new approach to understanding the progressive transition from linear to nonlinear rheological response in complex fluids and soft solids. Large amplitude oscillatory shear (LAOS) tests are carried out over a wide range of frequencies and strain amplitudes. The resulting material response to an oscillatory input can be represented in terms of Lissajous figures and can also be decom...

The small-deformation behaviour of Newtonian emulsion drops covered with a viscoelastic layer of adsorbed proteins (globular proteins and random coil protein) is investigated in shear flow and compared to emulsions prepared with a low molecular weight surfactant (SDS). Drop deformation experiments are performed with dilute emulsions in the rheometer using light microscopy as well as rheo-SALS [...

Granular flow in the marginal ice zone.

The region of sea ice near the edge of the sea ice pack is known as the marginal ice zone (MIZ), and its dynamics are complicated by ocean wave interaction with the ice cover, strong gradients in the atmosphere and ocean and variations in sea ice rheology. This paper focuses on the role of sea ice rheology in determining the dynamics of the MIZ. Here, sea ice is treated as a granular material w...

Shear banding from lattice kinetic models with competing interactions.

We present numerical simulations based on a Boltzmann kinetic model with competing interactions, aimed at characterizing the rheological properties of soft-glassy materials. The lattice kinetic model is shown to reproduce typical signatures of driven soft-glassy flows in confined geometries, such as Herschel-Bulkley rheology, shear banding and hysteresis. This lends further credit to the presen...

Rheology of granular materials: dynamics in a stress landscape.

We present a framework for analysing the rheology of dense driven granular materials, based on a recent proposal of a stress-based ensemble. In this ensemble, fluctuations in a granular system near jamming are controlled by a temperature-like parameter, the angoricity, which is conjugate to the stress of the system. In this paper, we develop a model for slowly driven granular materials based on...
